Overview

The Vice President of ACM UTSA plays a crucial role in supporting the President and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. The VP acts as an extension of the President and is typically the President’s closest advisor. They should stand in for the President in the case that they are absent or otherwise unavailable. This position requires leadership, initiative, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Day-to-Day

Besides the day-to-day for all officers, the VP also has the following daily responsibilities:

• Keep up engagement for members in the Discord and Officers in Slack
• Ensure all meetings for the day are on portal and RowdyLink
• Help answer officers’ questions and work with them to solve problems
• Ensure ACM follows all rules set by UTSA and ACM National

Major Tasks

Manage Room Access for all Officers

• Email contacts to secure room access for all current officers

Attend Major Meetings

1. Required Safety Management Training
2. Student Advisory Board Meetings
3. COSSSC Required Meetings

Update ACM National Portal

Keep officer, advisor, and membership list up to date on the officer dashboard through the ACM national portal

Helpful Tips

• While the president sets most of the vision for ACM general, the VP also has an opportunity to add on to this vision
• As VP, it is good to follow your interests and let it motivate you
• Be respectful of people’s time. Especially when setting times for events and meetings
• A lot of things are going on at any given time within ACM. Try your best to stay in the loop on things will make the rest of the job much easier
