The Hackathon Chair will help plan ACM-W’s annual hackathon Code Quantum.
- Gather a special committee to help with Code Quantum
- Help recruit students and sponsors for the event.
- Communicate directly with the Computer Science Dept., ACM, and UTSA to plan the event.
- To ensure that the Directors of Code Quantum has a proper understanding of the needs and the demands of the the position, Director of the Hackathon must be a former officer or junior officer unless there is no competition between former members of the Council, in which case any member satisfying the other requirements of an officer shall be eligible.
The Committee shall be headed by the Co Directors of Code Quantum The Committee will organize ACM-W’s hackathon.
- Setting the date of Code Quantum.
- Includes ensuring there are no conflicts such as holidays, major university events, departmental events, and major due dates pertaining to classes (tests and major projects).
- Contacting sponsors for funding.
- Includes creating the Sponsorship Letter and Sponsorship tiers.
- Finding and reserving the official location of Code Quantum.
- Creating and distributing branding, including logo, flyers, website, etc.
- Finding and securing catering for all meal times (dinner, breakfast, lunch, and snacks).
- Ordering t-shirts, prizes, and promotional merchandise.
- Creating the schedule of Code Quantum
- Ensuring smooth setup and teardown of Code Quantum
