Why I’m Running:

As the current ACM membership junior officer, I will be running for Membership Officer / Social Officer with the goal of demonstrating my leadership and communication skills. I want to help ACM become the best it can be. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity of getting involved with ACM by helping/leading tabling events, attending meetings and workshops, as well as socials. I have taken part in multiple hackathons and have had the pleasure of being able to socialize with multiple hackers and AMC officers. I've used every social I have attended as a way to meet and interact with as many ACM members as possible and will continue to do so next year as your membership officer. As a membership junior officer, I have helped Parker, the current ACM Membership Officer who is running for ACM President, by creating some of the posters we currently use for tabling. I have also helped by planning and volunteering during ACM’s involvement in BestFest, in which we sold 366 snow cones which was a record-breaker amount. I am currently helping with the organization of ACM’s snow cones sale at Dia en la Sobrilla by attending multiple information sessions and filling out forms that not many officers get to actually look at. These previous experiences give me a great idea of what becoming ACM’s Membership Officer would be like and I’ve proved that I would be excellent at it! As an Electrical and Computer Engineering student, I am currently involved with the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design as a KCEID Ambassador, IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as an events coordinator, and SHPE - Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as a junior officer. And I believe that I could help make connections with different organizations and help ACM welcome more engineering students.
