As the current Rowdy Creators Vice President, I feel that the organization can continue to benefit from my leadership, hence my running for President/Director. When I joined the team, Rowdy Creators was a struggling, crippled organization. Jointly with the current president, Analisa Rojas, we were able to revive it into the organization it is today. Some of the ideas I came up with myself included the Workathon/Creatathon (a hackathon inspired event where members worked on their projects and bonded; name is still a WIP), our upcoming "Something on a Stick Fundraiser", and some of the socials. However, I feel that my work is not done with Rowdy Creators. There is still so much growth potential for the organization and I believe that I am the perfect person to accomplish this. Such growth is important as it allows for more students interested in programming to have opportunities for projects, leadership, experience, and building a community. This semester our main goal has been to increase the community aspect of Rowdy Creators to increase retainment and motivation in projects. Some of the upcoming goals I have for the next year, in addition to building the community, are more fundraisers (to complete bigger projects), getting involved with industry sponsors/partners and professors (for funding and mentorship), and expanding the membership base even further. Rowdy Creators is a tough organization to lead due to the attention and time required in this intense growth stage, but I feel there is no one else more motivated and apt for the job. I have been so blessed to be involved with Rowdy Creators and the leadership team and hope to have another incredible year leading and creating opportunities for programmers. Thank you!
