RowdyHacks Director

The Nitty Gritty

Presiding and leading at all meetings of RowdyHacks and ACM Council.
  • Schedules meetings for the RowdyHacks committee as a whole and the subcommittees
  • Updates on the progression of RowdyHacks organization are presented to the ACM Council at officer meetings
  • Encourages frequent social events to build a more cohesive team
Ensuring that all Directors and teams complete their duties.
  • Presides over subcommittee meetings
  • Acts as a liaison between subcommittees and makes sure they are all on the same page
  • Maintains virtual communication between all members and leadership
Dedicated to growing the community and network of RowdyHacks.
  • Is the number one ambassador of the RowdyHacks organizer team
  • Is able to answer any question regarding the event
  • Works with Outreach team to promote the event to UTSA and other universities

Role Expectations

The RowdyHacks Chair will help plan ACM’s annual hackathon RowdyHacks.
  • Gather a special committee to help with RowdyHacks.
  • Help recruit students and sponsors for the event.
  • Communicate directly with the Computer Science Dept. and UTSA to plan the event.
  • To ensure that the Director of RowdyHacks has a proper understanding of the needs and the demands of the the position, Director of RowdyHacks must be a former officer or junior officer unless there is no competition between former members of the Council, in which case any member satisfying the other requirements of an officer shall be eligible.
