Social Media

• Our social media: Instagram, Discord, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn

• Heavily used Canva (https://www.canva.com/) to produce our weekly Instagram stories, Posters and Flyers

• Post flyers either created by the Social Officer (or Media Officer) on Instagram post/story and Discord announcements 1 week before an event
• Ask Technical Officer for the Officer Role in Discord.

• Download Bit Warden (https://bitwarden.com/download/)
• Ask Technical Officer for login to get access to Social Media logins

Member Socials

• Plan events for the ACM members to socialize throughout the academic year.

• Create a page on the "Events" page in Notion with event name, room status, date, stage in plan, flyer status and creator.
• The event must be promoted to Portal, RowdyLink and Discord 1 week before the event.
• (Tip) Booking a room two weeks before for the event has a higher chance of being successful. Room bookings can either be booked by the secretary or the social officer.

• Request for any event items or reimbursements must go through the current Treasurer.
• Items to be bought must have two executive approvals . Executive council can be found through the current ACM Constitution.

• Ideas for in-person member socials:
• Board game social
• Outdoor sports at the rec fields
• Dry clay making, canvas painting
• Cookie decorating, tote making
• Jackbox games (be weary of player count)
• Game tournaments (i.e. Smash Bros, Super Mario Cart)

• Ideas for virtual member socials:
• Jackbox games (be weary of player count)
• Minecraft Server?
• Online tournaments
• May be the easiest if you can pre-plan a bracket, so only a limited amount of players are actually playing.
• Note that virtual members socials are harder to host due to the possibility of too many members coming. It may be harder to communicate through voice chat or finding the right game to have everyone playing.

• Fundraiser Events:

• Fundraisers should be planned 3-4 weeks ahead.

Officer Socials

• Plan events for the officer team to get to know each other throughout the summer and academic year (about once a month)

• Announce time, location, and date of social in Slack and Officer Discord
• Option of creating a funny flyer for the event

• Plan end of the year retreat for future officers, current officers and current junior officers

• Ideas for in-person officer socials:
• Drive in movie at Stars & Stripes
• Karaoke
• Picnic/cookout
• Round 1 Bowling and Arcade
• Movie theater
• Outdoor sports
• Ice skating
• Haunted House
• Escape room
• Note that rides may need to be organized by the social officer or the officers going to the event.
